SCHOLAR ATHLETE AWARDS
For more than a quarter century, The Columbus Dispatch has produced the Scholar Athlete Awards, a scholarship program that recognizes the accomplishments of some of central Ohio's top student athletes. The awards commend a male and female scholar athlete
each at more than 100 high schools in The Dispatch Sports section's coverage area, and honor 17 students with college scholarships.
In the 2009-10 school year, The Dispatch is pleased to welcome back The Motorists Insurance Group as the presenting sponsor of the program. A total of 16 scholarships will be given by The Motorists Insurance Group and Wolfe Associates, the
philanthropic arm of The Columbus Dispatch. A 17th scholarship, honoring
Capt. Warren B. Sneed, is presented by The Sneed Family Foundation.
The awards are overseen by the Sports department of The Dispatch.
